Covid-19: Implications for Families in the CHANGE area
Since the lock-down restrictions were put in place in response to the Covid-19 outbreak, the CHANGE team have kept in regular contact with community partners in the project area to offer support. The team have also continued to facilitate CHANGE Hub meetings, offering partners the opportunity to stay in touch and access an established support network. Many of our partners have continued to deliver services which have had to be adapted due to the changing circumstances. Our communications with these services has given us an insight into some of the implications and concerns for local families, as well as the opportunity to reflect on what has been set up in response. We have collated this learning and summarised it here.
Out of School Care Consultation
The CHANGE Project has engaged with a number of local families and community partners to help positively shape Out of School Care (OSC) in the project area. The CHANGE team also used this learning to inform our response to the Scottish Government’s recent consultation on OSC. The aim of this consultation is to give the people who would benefit from OSC the opportunity to shape future policies that will help shape provision in communities across Scotland.
The response we submitted draws on a wealth of learning that has been gathered since October 2016. The consultation questions cover a range of topics relating to OSC and our answers offer a great insight into OSC in the CHANGE Project area as well as the needs and wants of local families. You can read our full response, informed by local people and community partners from the CHANGE Project area, here.
